Ushuaia is ready to welcome tourists. No hugs, but with open arms.

Thanks to the implementation of our protocols, we obtained the “Safe Travels” certificate granted by the World Travel and Tourism Council.

We bring you all the information.

On these pages you can find the requirements that tourists must meet to come to Ushuaia, we have also developed a series of protocols that involve accommodation, tour providers, professional guides, adventure tourism and mountain centers.

Requirements for the entry of Foreign Tourists

As of November 1, 2021, the Argentine Government ordered the opening of borders for international tourism. The requirements for entering the country are the following:

Non-resident foreigners, over 6 years of age, who enter for tourist reasons must present a complete vaccination schedule, negative PCR 72 hours. Prior to boarding and a COVID-19 health insurance, being exempt from quarantine. Then a PCR test must be carried out between the 3rd and 5th day of arrival in the country.

They must also complete an affidavit in 48 hours before the trip that is obtained in the following link:

The provisions related to the entry of tourists may be modified or suspended, in whole or in part, by the provincial health emergency application authority in the event of a negative epidemiological evolution.

Requirements to enter Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales in Chile.

Leaving from Ushuaia, you must reach Río Gallegos in transit, then return to the border and from there continue to Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales. If you arrive from the north, the road is more direct: first you pass through Río Gallegos and then continue towards the border.

The requirements are:

-SOAPEX (Mandatory insurance to travel to Chile)

-Covid insurance with coverage of $30,000

-PCR 72 hours in advance

-Vaccine validation at www.mevacuno.gob.cl
